DIMAPUR, MARCH 20 (MExN): Mumbaikar Amit Lall, who is on a mission to spread the message of peace and unity, arrived Dimapur Friday afternoon from Shillong. Interacting with media persons, Amit, who lost many of his friends in the Mumbai terror attack, said his mission was to generate hope and positive energy and to create fresh hope in the minds of people across the country against terrorism and corruption.
Amit’s journey in his car began from the Gateway of India in Mumbai on January 26 and will pass through 26 states covering an approximate distance of 15,000 km and conclude in Mumbai. So far, he has visited 15 states including Nagaland covering a distance of 9,500km in 54 days.
Narrating his experience of the North East states he has visited so far, the peace activist felt that the region has been neglected and given step-motherly treatment. Even the national media has failed to highlight the plight of the people of the NE region, he said.
After completion of his journey, he desires to form a ‘united force’ comprising of NGOs, which would work for peace, harmony and unity of the people. Amit will leave for Manipur Saturday where he will also visit the Moreh border.
